for the one

For The One (FTO) is an organisation set up, registered and operating in Nepal.

It was started for 2 main reasons.

  1. To rescue, repatriate and rehabilitate underage Nepalese girls from sex slavery.
  2. To operate projects that socially and economically develop local communities in Nepal.

Anti-trafficking – rescue, repatriate and rehabilitate underage Nepalese girls from sex slavery.

FTO achieves this by operating a specialized safe house using top global trauma care.  We are involved from the point of repatriation (or rescue if in Nepal) to rehabilitation and reintegration.  To ensure the girls have a safe community to be reintegrated into, we work together with their local villages, educating on trafficking and putting plans in place to create those safe communities.

Our Safe Home in Kathmandu has been operating since September 2018.  During this time we have had some girls stay permanently, some girls have needed short term accommodation and moved onto other organisations and some girls have been reintegrated back into their families.  On average we have approximately 15 girls in our Home at any one time.

We work together with various other organisations, government departments, hospitals, social workers, counsellors, schools and police departments.   We have great staff who are very committed and totally dedicated to working with the girls.

It has been a whirlwind experience so far, yet totally worth it – especially seeing the girls smiling, growing, learning, playing and enjoying themselves in a safe family environment.

” You may choose to look the other way but you can never say again that you did not know.”

William Wilberforce

Community Development – socially and economically developing local communities.

FTO achieves this by working with local community leaders.  We are creating and overseeing projects which develop individuals’ self-worth and a sense of purpose and identity.  We want to see people achieving their full potential in self-sustaining, self-empowering communities.

We also oversee and facilitate international specialist work teams which benefit local communities and the people of Nepal as a whole.  These teams include medical, educational and counselling teams.
