THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! We are so excited to share with you that Blue Ripple has received more than the set goal of $50,182 meaning 23 children will be able to attend school for the Nepali school year (April to April, with a delayed start due to covid); with board, food and medication paid for as promised. Tahlia & Sameer are so encouraged by your response that they would like to start another project amongst the Chepang people in Nepal.

Kaule, the Chepang village where most of the 23 children are from have 2 schools in the surrounding area which only go up to year 5. The chances of completing year 5, for many children, is slim due to a range of obstacles. Parents often prefer their children to work the fields or help in their family business instead of attending school. Many children cannot afford shoes or uniforms and do not attend due to embarrassment. There are many other obstacles to education that Nepali children face. Tahlia and Sameer would be working with the schools one village at a time. Their vision is to lobby the government, work alongside the principal and teachers, communicate with the parents of the children at the existing village schools to overcome these obstacles and increase their education to at least year 8, which is the mandatory minimum year level as per the Nepali government. This could help hundreds of children who live in that area. They would also like to offer adult literacy and numeracy classes.

Any funds donated above the original goal will go towards helping to educate more children.

There is still a chance to give towards the Chepang people of Nepal. All donations are tax deductible. Just click on the below link.
