FOR THE ONE

With all the problems in the world and the magnitude of need, things can easily become overwhelming which prevents us from helping with the little things.  We can all make a difference by helping “the one”.

This is what For the One is about.

One person, one girl, one community at a time.

Our 2023/24 projects...

By contributing to our end-of-year appeal, you can make a lasting impact on the lives of these children and young girls, empowering them with education, safety, and opportunities for a better tomorrow.

At CES, we are dedicated to providing educational opportunities for the Chepang community. CES - CHEPANG EDUCATIONAL SPONSORSHIPS TOTAL BUDGET $37,034

Our Sahayatri program focuses on supporting the Chepang community school. We allocate $5,418 to sponsor a dedicated Chepang teacher who visits parents and provides valuable follow-up support. Additionally, we allocate $15,000 to support 50 children attending the local school. This funding covers uniforms, stationery, textbooks, and daily lunch, which is often the only meal some children receive in a day. If you are interested in making a difference, we can match you with a specific child to sponsor.

HELP - Higher Education Loan Program Total budget: $16,565

Our HELP program aims to assist students who aspire to continue their studies beyond year 10. We allocate $16,565 to support 10 students residing in two flats—one for boys and one for girls. The loan covers school fees, uniforms, and textbooks, with the expectation that it will be repaid within 6-12 months after the completion of their course. Additionally, we offer scholarships for housing, furniture, and some food, which are not repayable. To supplement this program, parents of the students are expected to contribute NPR1,000 per month as education support for their child.

The Sahas Project
Total budget: $201,757

The Sahas Project encompasses our Safe Home, The Genesis Abode, and Next Step Living.

The Safe Home provides a safe and nurturing environment for minor Nepali girls who have been trafficked or sexually abused, often by members of their own family. Here, they receive comprehensive care, including medical check-ups, counseling, education, support in legal cases and recreation to aid in their rehabilitation until they are stable and ready to take the next steps towards a brighter future.

The Genesis Abode accommodates girls who have graduated from the Safe Home while still being minors. In this small family-style setting, they live together under the guidance of a house mother, focusing on their education and following their individual recovery plans.

Next Step Living caters to girls who have graduated from the Safe Home and are over 16 years old, with employment to support themselves. In this semi-independent living arrangement, they enjoy the freedom of adulthood while still benefiting from continued support and guidance from FTO.

All donations are greatly appreciated towards any of the projects under The Sahas Project.  We have not divided it up as all 3 projects share various costs in the budget.
